My Philosophy on Wikipedia

I subscribe strongly to the Wikipedia philosophies of Inclusionism and Eventualism:

Well written, well-sourced, encyclopedic factual information is far better than badly-written, fancrufty, haphazard, non-wikified factual information. But having badly-written, fancrufty, haphazard, non-wikified factual information in an entry is far, far better than not having that information at all.

On the subject of my username, I often have to fight hard not to violate rule #2 of the Wikipedia trifecta (listed below under "It's really pretty simple:"), hence my use of my real full name as a "check" on myself so that if I cross a line I'm not hiding behind psuedonyms.

My Background and Personal Views

I'm not one of those people who wants to use their User: page as a soapbox, or a getting-to-know-you type page, but I do feel it is important and ethical to divulge my stronger viewpoints, positions, and background if I'm going to participate in this grand experiment where human nature decrees that we don't always stick as closely to the ideal of NPOV as we perhaps should.
